| THE
LIVE ROOM |
The exceptional-sounding
and justifiably renowned Berry Street live room is a traditional
"live-end-dead-end" room. The live end has a parquet floor,
brick and pine walls, and a pine ceiling. The dead end has carpeted
floors, and the walls and ceiling are hessian-covered Helmholtz
resonators. The room also features a neutral-sounding isolation
booth and a ceiling-high acoustic screen.
There are 24 balanced XLR tie-lines to the control room; 10 in the
booth; 2 speaker feeds for guitar/bass cabinets from the control
room, and 2 foldback busses appearing at either end of the live
room and in the booth.
Between the Live Room and the Control Room is an acoustically dead
area with carpeted walls. Both this area and the kitchen have XLR
tie lines to, and foldback from, the Control room.

Underwent a complete
refit in April 2001 - its first since the 1970s. Designed and fitted
by Bruce McCallum, the ergonomic, air-conditioned room features
a combination of Helmholtz resonators and quadratic diffusors to
ensure a neutral listening environment. In our choice of recording
media and our extensive selection of outboard we combine the speed
and flexibility of contemporary recording, editing and mixing with
the quality of the classic tools of sound manipulation.
The control room also houses our extensive range of modern and vintage
synthesisers, samplers and MIDI modules, as well as the soft synths
and samplers within the various sequencing options on offer.
