A few months back we decided to undertake a major improvement and commission a new(ish) mixing console.

John Oram, who has manufactured many of the pieces of hardware we've used for years, is providing us with a very special custom version of one his award-winning GP-40 consoles. It's been travelling from San Francisco, and is now at Oram HQ in Kent, where John and Dave are making sure that it's back to their demanding technical specifications.

The new desk will be installed in the second week of September. We'll be filming the process, and filming an interview with its designer, John Oram.

This is a very exciting development for us. Watch this space…

Sam's Half A Chance EP has been a long time in coming, but is now on sale at iTunes, including the new single Wormhole.

She's also filmed live versions of three of her songs with us at Berry Street, along with an in-depth interview with KP, talking about her songwriting, influences, her band, etc.

She's playing at Brighton's Komedia Club on Wed 8th Sept. Tickets are available at Ticketweb.

Berry Street regular Scaramanga Silk has set a controversial New World Record for the slowest techno track. "Sacrifice", which has weighed in at an incredible 91 BPM.

After his achievement an emotional and exhausted Scaramanga managed a statement for the World Records Academy:    'The record was always in reach. Creating such a track was a real challenge as it is not easy to produce such slow techno music.' 

The New World Record was documented on The Academy's site which also contains a video clip of the Record.

Home of the slow techno fraternity specialist site slowtechno.com crashed on 23rd August after an unprecedented number of people logged on to watch the live video stream of the event. 

Mike Marlin's brilliant Basement EP is now on sale at iTunes.

The single (I've heard the preview – it's sublime) is scheduled for a 13th September release, with the full album's release shortly after.

Tony's been very busy and has come up with a cracking track. Attention features the vocal talents of dozens of disparate people, has a groove fit to knock your arse off, and a very funky video.

This year's Schools Rock 4 Islington was held at LSO St Luke's on 4th July.

The event is organised by Islington Police's Safer Schools Initiative. Once again, KP was one of the judges, and the main prize for the winning band is a day at Berry Street.

The evening featured a set from guest artist Gary Phelan.

The participants set an unbelievably high standard. This year's winners were Holloway Vibe from Holloway School. We're really looking forward to getting them into the studio – hopefully in September.

We've had a wonderful week – but this wasn't it.
